A Measure of Silence
Harbor Gallery is dedicated to presenting distinctive contemporary art shaped by thoughtful inquiry, accomplished technique, and a clear artistic point of view. Our program brings together emerging, mid-career, and established artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and works on paper. While their practices vary, each artist demonstrates a sustained commitment to material exploration and contributes a meaningful perspective to contemporary culture.
The gallery takes its name from the idea of a harbor as both a place of arrival and a point of departure. This concept guides our approach to exhibitions and artist representation. We see the gallery as a space where artists, collectors, curators, designers, and communities can encounter new ideas, develop lasting relationships, and participate in conversations that extend beyond the exhibition itself. Our presentations are carefully considered, allowing individual works to be experienced on their own while revealing broader connections among material, place, memory, identity, and the natural environment.
We work closely with our artists to support the long-term development of their practices. This includes organizing focused exhibitions, introducing their work to new audiences, facilitating institutional and private placements, and creating opportunities for critical engagement. Our relationships with artists are built on trust, transparency, and an appreciation for the time required to develop a significant body of work. We value practices that evolve through research and experimentation, and we remain attentive to the different forms that meaningful artistic progress can take.
For collectors, Harbor Gallery offers a personal and informed approach to discovering and acquiring art. We assist both new and experienced collectors in identifying works that resonate with their interests, environments, and broader collection goals. Our team provides clear information regarding an artwork’s materials, dimensions, condition, provenance, and availability, as well as guidance related to framing, placement, installation, shipping, and ongoing care. We also collaborate with art advisors, interior designers, architects, and other professionals to develop thoughtful selections for residential, hospitality, and corporate settings.
At the heart of Harbor Gallery is a belief that collecting art is more than acquiring an object. It is an opportunity to engage with an artist’s ideas, support the continuation of a creative practice, and live with work that can reveal something new over time. Through carefully curated exhibitions, considered digital presentations, and responsive personal service, we aim to make that experience both accessible and enduring. We invite visitors and collectors to explore our artists, follow the development of their work, and begin a conversation with the gallery.

My work explores the relationship between the human body, constructed environments, and the systems of support that often remain unnoticed. I create sculptures and installations using bronze, steel, plaster, wood, textiles, and found architectural materials. These substances carry distinct physical and cultural associations. Bronze suggests permanence and commemoration, steel evokes infrastructure and industry, plaster records touch while remaining vulnerable, and textiles bring the intimacy of clothing, shelter, and domestic labor. By placing these materials in conversation, I examine how strength and fragility can exist within the same form. Many of my sculptures begin with observations of ordinary gestures: a body leaning against a wall, two hands supporting an object, fabric folding under weight, or a person adjusting their posture to accommodate another. I translate these gestures into abstract structures that suggest the body without illustrating it directly. A curved plane may function like a shoulder, a vertical element may resemble a spine, and an opening between two forms may imply distance, dependence, or an attempted connection. Negative space is therefore as important as solid material. It represents what is absent, withheld, or made possible through the relationship between objects. I am particularly interested in structures that appear stable at first but reveal an underlying tension. Elements may balance at unexpected points, lean toward each other without touching, or seem to carry a weight that is not visible. These arrangements reflect my interest in interdependence and in the often invisible negotiations that allow individuals, families, communities, and institutions to function.
